Born in the city of Aveiro in 1877, he was, throughout his life, an Aveiro citizen dedicated to the prosperity of his city.
Besides being a doctor, he also gave his contribution by assuming the presidency of the Administrative Constitution of Aveiro City Council, a position he held for 24 years and during which important infrastructures were built in the city, including the main road artery (former Central Avenue), which today bears his name.
The artist Diogo Landô presents Lourenço Peixinho through a mixed-media technique, combining collage and digital painting, uniting the Man and his Work, in a concept that merges in the same way as the perception of people when the name Lourenço Peixinho is mentioned.
It is noteworthy the presence in this work of the Arte Nova building, designed in 1906 by the architect Francisco Augusto Silva Rocha to be the family residence of Dr. Lourenço Peixinho, thus indicating a contemporaneity between these two figures from Aveiro.
